These workshops are professionally run and practical. They provide a safe environment and are fun as well!

The workshops immerse students in communication skills and self-expression and support each child to develop their unique voice through creative and active engagement.

Creating future voices is a passion of Lightning Strike and is the basis of these workshops.

For young children, these workshops build on the Early Years Learning Framework to:

• Provide purposeful and creative play in designed activities
• Develop connection to understanding as they make and respond to role-play and situation and explore voice, movement and story
• Expand and enhance oral language skills
• Develop language through drama and movement (‘embodied cognition’).

For primary students, the workshops provide:

• Purposeful and creative play in designed activities
• An understanding of dramatic elements such as drama voice, movement, situation, focus, tension, space and time
• Opportunities to make connections and explore empathy as they offer, accept and extend ideas.

For secondary schools students:

• Specialist workshops are designed to add to your drama program, for example, workshops in mime, stagecraft, interpretation of text and voice

Devised performances can also be arranged over a series of workshops. Students will brainstorm, improvise, devise, script drama and rehearse for a specific theatre performance.

These workshops support your literacy objectives of speaking, listening and writing.
